The Lake Morey House
The Lake Morey House

This project presented a unique challenge: creating a home that accommodates many people and activities within a limited footprint, while still feeling spacious and airy. To achieve this, we worked with our clients to design the interior of this vertical, three-level home. Perched on Lake Morey, the house offers beautiful views in every direction and evokes the charm of a warm, inviting summer cottage. With its stunning natural setting as inspiration, we incorporated abundant natural materials throughout, creating visual continuity from one level to the next and seamlessly blending the indoors with the outdoors.
Take a tour below:

We placed a strong emphasis on natural materials throughout the home. Custom ironwork—crafted to resemble delicate twigs—pairs with hand-blown glass in the chandelier, adding an artisanal, nature-inspired touch. A live-edge wood tabletop, with its subtle natural variations, further reinforces the organic palette and deepens the home’s connection to its surroundings.

Lighting is an essential part of thoughtful design. We consider two key types: functional or task lighting, which supports specific activities, and mood lighting, which guides movement or draws you into a space. In the photo above, the sconce provides a warm, inviting glow that gently beckons you to settle into the reading nook—creating a cozy spot to sit, unwind, and relax.

A quartz countertop extends seamlessly into a matching quartz sink. Using the same material for both reduces visual breaks in the surface, creating a clean, calming effect. These custom sinks can be crafted in any size, allowing them to be tailored perfectly to the needs of the space.

This bathroom is quite small, yet the airy design makes it feel much larger than it truly is. The use of an old-fashioned sink enhances the cottage-inspired aesthetic, adding charm and character to the space.

In this stairway we wanted to create a focal point. This custom pendant light is made from willow branches. The design allows soft light to dance in the stairway. It grounds the space and ties it to the natural materials being used throughout the home.

This bathroom floor is a rustic tile with nickel gap walls which are very durable and carry through the lake house feeling.
To keep some of the original charm of the previous home we kept the sign that was hung and placed it behind the bar.
Selecting textiles that add depth and character is essential to creating interiors that feel unique and inviting. Thoughtfully chosen fabrics bring warmth, texture, and personality to a space—an important element in crafting truly successful interiors.
Our vision for the cottage bunk room was to create a space where everyone would want to spend time. Our in-house workroom fabricated the bedding and custom accents, adding thoughtful details that make the room feel special and welcoming for all ages.
With smaller spaces, careful attention must be given to creating balance and flow. Lighting and color play key roles in highlighting special elements within a room, helping to guide the eye and enhance the overall experience of the space.

After selecting the best piece, we set out to design a base that would support the large top both physically and visually. The future tabletop wood was transported to a local craftsman, and we worked to finalize the details of the treatment of the raw edges while securing any natural knots and cracks for lasting durability.
